The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is seeking a Direct Marketing Coordinator to join the Development Department in its Washington, DC headquarters. The Direct Marketing Coordinator will work with the Direct Marketing Director to plan, execute, and evaluate AIPAC’s direct marketing campaigns; including direct mail, online fundraising, and telemarketing efforts as it pertains to the fundraising efforts of the organization.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all of the visible and behind the scene details needed to get AIPAC direct marketing campaigns out the door on time and on budget.
  • Work with internal staff and outside vendors (Direct Marketing agencies, printers, mailhouses) to ensure that everything from lists and messaging to design and appeal codes are in place to maximize the results from each campaign
  • Track, analyze and report on marketing campaign results on a regular basis, reviewing campaign responses to determine when a particular campaign may need updating to re-energize response.
  • Help create and develop testing ideas to further improve overall marketing results.
  • Assist in the development of AIPAC’s online fundraising efforts, specifically outbound e-solicitations, online ad campaigns (Google PPC and Facebook), as well as landing pages.
  • Assist in managing AIPAC’s telemarketing campaigns, including working with outside telemarketing vendor to update telemarketing scripts and monitoring campaign results.
  • Manage donor fulfillment (thank you letters, donor acknowledgement) in conjunction with vendor that processes direct mail campaign responses.
  • Develop and adhere to an annual direct marketing budget.
  • Assist multiple regions in the strategy and execution of regional direct marketing initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of direct marketing experience; experience with a non-profit or association preferred but not required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to track, analyze and report detailed marketing campaign results, Intermediate to advanced Excel skills is a must.
  • Experience managing day to day back-end operational aspects of direct marketing initiatives (working with printers and mail houses).
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of marketing design desired, specifically tools such as Photoshop and/or InDesign.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of writing direct marketing copy for mail, email, and/or online desired.
  • Experience with tools to create and manage e-campaigns (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Facebook, Google Adwords, Google Analytics) is highly desired.
  • Excellent strategic management and tactical planning skills.
  • Past experience and success in establishing, tracking and achieving marketing goals and benchmarks.
  • Experience managing projects laterally across internal departments.
  • Experience in calculating, presenting and adhering to a budget.
  • Proven track record in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Must be a creative thinker and constant innovator.
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team setting.
