Audience Development Officer

Solve is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that advances lasting solutions from tech entrepreneurs to address the world's most pressing problems. Solve issues four Challenges each year to find the most promising Solver teams who will drive transformational change. Solve then deploys its global community of private, public, and nonprofit leaders to form partnerships these Solver teams need to scale their impact. Joining the Solve team offers the chance to play a leading role in defining this cutting-edge and diverse community.

 

The audience development officer will manage Solve’s digital efforts, including email campaigns and social media.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Solve’s email program, featuring inspiring Solver stories and partnerships, to grow and influence Solve’s community 
  • Grow the CrowdSolve (Solve’s primary newsletter) list size, suggest content, and maintain best practices 
  • Monitor and track analytics and Solve community data to inform strategy
  • Generate creative ideas and solutions to drive more Solve website visitors through social media and email campaigns 
  • Collaborate on setting the overall strategy for Solve’s digital community and presence 
  • Manage marketing efforts, including print, email, and social media 
  • Manage relationships with partners for content partnerships   

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • At least three years’ experience spanning digital and online engagement and audience development, with an emphasis on email programs and marketing campaigns 
  • At least two years’ experience analyzing complex data on email, social media, and website campaigns 
  • Experience with organic and paid social media and search engine optimization (SEO) 
  • Highly-developed organizational and written and oral communication skills;
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Flexibility 
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and anticipate needs
  • An interest in learning more about data science best practices and related technologies 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in a start-up, social impact, and/or fast-paced environment
