The Media Buyer is the ideal role for an organized, enthusiastic individual with experience in developing media strategy, media plans and overseeing the execution (placement) of media buys. The MS will work with the Media Director to provide insights and input on all facets of the media planning process and buying process, including competitive placements, budget planning, market insights, digital media/social media and traditional media. This position is responsible for assisting in managing the day-to-day agency relationships specific to media plans and spend and coordinates traffic and creative assets for media placements. The MS is a media savvy professional that is able to develop strategy and identify efficiencies and clearly understand national market trends and the media buying process.

  • 5 years plus experience in media planning/buying.
  • Experience in leading planning and buying efforts for acquisition and brand media campaigns and post-buy media analysis and added-value negotiations.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in developing and implementing multi-faceted media and non-traditional media campaigns.
  • Experience with multi-million dollar + advertising budgets and P/L.
  • Experience with multi-cultural media, sponsorships and advertising.
  • Must be an innovator and have outstanding skills in the following areas:
    • Communications (verbal and written), problem solving and decision-making, effective listening, relationship building, operational and strategic planning and management (budget management and planning)
  • Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated success in applying innovative and tactical initiatives to the media plan.
  • Experience in providing POV for traditional and non-traditional media.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple client media plans during the same time period.
  • Broad and deep understanding of broad media and digital marketing programs and best practices.
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented individual with proven success in improving campaign performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • PC Skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred:
  • Ad agency experience, providing media planning and buying services to external clients.
  • Experience in working on major B-to-B and B-to-C advertising campaigns.
  • Worked in cross-functional team environment/matrix environment.
  • PC Skills (Google Analytics, Webtrends)
  • Knowledge of health insurance category
