The ASPCA, America's oldest and most respected animal welfare organization, is seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to serve as Manager, Donor Acquisition in its Direct Response department. The Direct Response department is responsible for the acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship of current and potential ASPCA donors, through multiple channels.

This position is responsible for the oversight and day to day management aspects of ASPCA’s donor acquisition through multiple channels, including but not limited to Direct Response Television (DRTV) and Direct Mail.

The Manager will handle campaign reporting and monitoring, back-end fulfillment set-up, and supervise implementation of new tests and on-boarding of additional call centers and partners as needed, escalating issues when appropriate.



Manage ASPCA DRTV Inbound Performance (50%)


  • Serve as the main contact for Inbound DRTV call center partners for day to day inquiries
  • Monitor all DRTV efforts, including additional call centers and test set up, performance reporting, budget, and call monitoring
  • Provide standing reporting of call handling and conversion to ensure high standard of call service
  • Collaborate with other internal ASPCA teams to maintain scripts and other messaging and training materials utilized by call centers
  • Assure quality of data imported into donor database, identify notable errors, patterns or trends in donation processing and propose and implement solutions
  • Manage Toll Free Number inventory


Manage Acquisition Operations (20%)


  • Collaborate with other internal ASPCA teams on projects and processes impacting the acquisition and processing of donations
  • Work with outside vendors, including call centers, database and credit card processors, to set up campaign tracking
  • Manage acquisition package grid development, working with partners and ultimately taking development in-house

Oversight of List Rental and Exchange (20%)


  • Clear List Rental and Exchange requests
  • Facilitate the approval of List Rental Agreements
  • Provide standing reporting on health of list Rental and Exchange                                                                                                                                                                                    

Special Projects (10%)

  • Special projects as needed

Additional Information

  • Experience managing vendors, with preference for management of multiple firms required
  • 1-3 years prior fundraising experience, preferably in direct response, or 1-2 years of relevant DRTV or direct mail experience preferred
  • Prior hands on experience with monthly giving programs strongly preferred
  • Previous experience managing expense budgets preferred
  • 1-3 years of prior experience with Direct Marketing acquisition and performance metrics preferred
  • Experience working with donor or customer databases in a non-profit or marketing environment preferred
  • Understanding of multi-channel fundraising, notably DRTV and Direct Mail preferred
