General Summary

Visit Anaheim’s mission is to develop, market and sell Anaheim/Orange County to benefit the economic vitality of our communities.

Support Sales Optimization by developing, implementing and measuring sales strategies, performances and benchmarks. Sales optimization activities include analyzing of sales strategies, sales database, sales data measurement and sales targets; support in the development of sales goals, sales incentive structures, lead generation processes and input into overall sales campaigns/projects; and the management of data in Sales CRM to assist in sales operations.

Management and execute Economic Impact Calculations for sales and large sporting events. Lead and participate in convention sales and meeting sales Simpleview trainings. Identify opportunities, business trends for Anaheim/ Orange County’s competitive set given changing economic landscape.

General area of responsibility includes, but is not limited to, sales data collection and analysis, data tabulation and assessment, report development, sales forecasting, incentive analysis and support in collection of convention actuals in Anaheim.

Oversees data accuracy and report generation for sales division. Work with Senior Vice-President, Sales & Services on sales projects and research as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  1. Primary sales administrator for the Simpleview CRM system, Cvent and other sales data systems. Make certain Simpleview supports the Sales Divisions strategies for success with reliable data and accurate reporting including training of sales & services on Simpleview.
  2. Provide data analysis and business intelligence to Sales Leadership to grow future sales opportunities. Manage data resources including TAP, MINT and STR data to provide opportune group booking scenarios, priorities and recommendations toward meeting booking goals. Authenticate sales data to be shown in regular presentations as well as design graphs and charts using research tools including Simpleview, Tableau Software.
  3. Recommend changes and enhancements to the Simpleview CRM system to meet the needs of the Sales Division. Works closely with the IT Department, Convention Center and Simpleview to help launch new initiatives related to sales data. Lead and/or partcipate in monthly meetings with the internal Simpleview User Groups and project review calls with Simpleview
  4. Perform annual review of Convention and Sports business utilzing ACC against historical rooms actualized pickup. Support in securing and recording of hotel pick up, attendace, rates and economic impact for all reports, update histories in Simpleview database and report to DMAI EmpowerMINT database.
  5. Collaborate with Partnership to enhance relationship with hotel partners and enhancement of tools such as the Extranet and partner reports. Support in development of monthly reports for Partners and Hotels
  6. Lead and manage Revenue Management meetings in collaboration with Senior Vice President of Sales & Services to inform and share intelligence in group, sports and tourism business impacting Anaheim/Orange County.
  7. Knowledge of Convention and Meetings market with emphasis on segments, data managements and leads/booking patterns. Ability to analyze and review market conditions, interpret data, write reports and provide strategies and actionable recommendations to meet goals.
  8. Support in development of Sales SOP’s including data audits of CRM for data integrity and training of sales staff on Simpleview. Support in development and analysis of Incentive Plans and successful completion of sales audit.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Business Intelligence and/or Senior VP of Sales & Services.


  1. Education Required: Minimum of 4-year college degree with major emphasis on statistics, economics, business, database management and/or hospitality.
  2. Experience Required: Minimum of 5 year’s experience in convention or hotel sales research orrevenue management roles in hotels, convention center or convention bureau. Preferred: Minimum of 3 year’s experience in hotel sales, revenue management or research firms such as PKF, Jones Lang La Sale, STR with related experience in meetings/convention business.
  3. Knowledge, Skills & Ability
  • Possess thorough knowledge of effective meetings and convention strategies
  • Provide expertise across the organization as it relates to the education of the staff on convention center market strategies that are relevant in allowing all levels to be successful in their roles.
  • Ability to analyze/review convention market strategies and tactics impacts.
  • Effectively represent the association and the industry at a variety of industry meetings
  • Highly-motivated, self-starter and excellent public speaker.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with executives and staff at all levels as well as members, media, vendors and others in a professional office environment
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with competency in applications such as EXCEL, powerpoint, keynote, Tableau and other database applications
  • Ability to handle confidential data, including aggregation
  • Ability to work effectively and creatively under tight deadlines and in critical business situations
  • Ability to think strategically, set short, mid and long range goals, implement plans, manage projects and perform analysis and make recommendations to key staff
  • Strong hotel group sales and revenue management experience (function space, room inventory)
  • Strong project and process management skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to present complex information in layman terms adapted to the needs of the audience
  • Ability to effectively identify and leverage research in support of key issues and goals
  • Ability to travel locally and domestically.

Must be able to travel domestically and internationally. Work week will regularly exceed 37 ½ hours and not be limited to traditional work days Monday- Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends are required.
