We are seeking an experienced Advertising Account Manager to become a member of the expanding Display Sales team at Springer Nature. 

The Advertising Account Manager will report to the US Sales Director and will be responsible for generating advertising revenue to achieve financial targets for a range of market-leading and prestigious scientific journals aimed at the scientific research community and healthcare professionals. This role will be responsible for managing an established client portfolio while prospecting for new business across our extensive journal portfolio.

The Advertising Account Manager role requires a strong focus on account management along with superior business development skills. Although print advertising remains a significant revenue stream, a fundamental requirement of this position will be a strong awareness of digital advertising and the ability to sell effectively across new and existing online advertising products. Working with senior executives within biotech companies and scientific product suppliers, the candidate will use their extensive consultative sales skills to build and develop strong and lasting relationships within this community. Domestic travel is vital and represents approximately 20% of your time consisting of both tradeshow attendance and in-person sales calls. This position will be located in our NY office with no telecommute option.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of prior print and digital advertising or business development experience
  • Must be able to develop and execute strategic planning and B2B campaign planning
  • Ability to negotiate campaign details, contracts and ad space
  • Existing contacts within the Scientific industry
  • Develops collaborative working relationships with internal/external clients/customers
  • Strong Salesforce knowledge is a requirement for this role
  • Highly motivated self-starter who has a proven track record of account management success
  • Exceptional communication and presentational skills
  • 20% - 25% Domestic travel required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
